Where we think, talk, and test
The lab occupies three rooms on the third floor of the Renewable Energy Research Building (C10) on the GIST campus. Room 315 is the study room: each member has a desk, and it is kept quiet. Room 316 is the multipurpose room for meetings, seminars, calls, and the occasional argument at the whiteboard. Room 318 is the experiment room, where a proposed method meets hardware. A proposed method is not considered finished until it has been demonstrated with experimental results, at laboratory scale at minimum. The equipment that makes this possible is listed below.

Study room, 315 — Each member is given a desk with a PC and two monitors. MATLAB, PLECS, Altium, ORCAD, Ansys EM & HF, Vivado, and Mathematica are licensed.

Multipurpose room, 316 — A personal cabinet for each member and an all-in-one PC for remote sessions into 315 or the laboratory.

Experiment room 1, 318 — Grid-connected inverter benches, an ESS cabinet, and a machine test rig. Power conversion up to 32.9 kW can be handled here.

Experiment room 2, 109 — Shared space for larger-scale grid experiments, where the grid simulator and its measurement instruments are installed.
